Lace Museum

School and Museum of Lace making efforts to maintain the tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. Most of the exhibits, with a beautiful wedding train at the forefront, come from the 19th century. The lace school was opened here already in 1872. Currently, islanders import cheap lace from the east. Authentic Burano needle laces are very expensive, hardly any tourist can afford.
