Siculiana is a small town near the Sicilian coast. It is connected with the settlement of Siculiana Marina, where there are beaches and tourist facilities.
The town has been known since the Arab times, when the local market center was located here. In later centuries, it did not have much importance, remaining primarily the center of the surrounding smaller settlements. Located on a hill, the center has some traditional, historical buildings, with the church dome towering over the houses.
The coastal part of Siculiana is the most attractive for tourists. There are guesthouses and holiday apartments here, but the whole area has retained its atmosphere from before the great tourist boom. The beaches are not very crowded here, although they are not inferior to the cleanliness of the much more popular ones. They are sandy and quite wide. Most of them allow you to relax with your own equipment.
The main attraction of Siculiana is the area of Torre Salsa, coastal salt pans, dunes and marshes, which is included in the nature reserve. There is a beautiful, wild Torre Salsa beach by the sea, open to tourists, but devoid of amenities. Here you can experience real contact with nature.
