The castle is part of the ancient city walls and stands on a rock in a dominant position at the top of the northeastern part of Sciacca. The massive medieval structure was built in 1380 by Guglielmo Peralta. It consists of four parts: walls, a tower, a palace of the counts and a cylindrical tower.
