The cathedral was built between the 12th and 13th centuries on the orders of Bishop Girgenti Gerlando di Besançon, who later became the patron of the city. The church was often destroyed by earthquakes, which is why you can observe the overlap of many architectural styles. Inside are relics of two saints - an urn with the bones of St. Geraldo and the body of St. Felice Martire.
