The National Gallery of Ancient Art in Barberini Palace is a 17th-century palace in Rome, overlooking Piazza Barberini in Rione Trevi. Today, the Palazzo Barberini is home to the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica, one of the most important collections of painting in Italy. The museum collections include, among others: portrait of Raphael La fornarina, Judith Beheading Holofernes Caravaggio and portrait of Henry VIII Hans Holbein.
On November 4, 1950, the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) was signed within the palace walls, and created the European Court of Human Rights.
