The Museo Storico della Motorizzazione Militare in Rome presents an exhibition of military vehicles. There are about 300 exhibits here, including antique armored vehicles, motorcycles and helicopters. One of the most interesting objects is the reconstruction of the 18th century steam engine, designed by Nicholas Cugnot.
An interesting exhibit is also the Fiat 4 passenger car, which at the beginning of the XX many was driven by Italian king Victor Emanuel III.
The exhibition area (50,000 m²) has been divided into 6 rooms, exhibits can also be seen outside the building. The oldest museum buildings include vehicles still used during World War I - Fiat 15 and Fiat 18.
The museum was opened in the 1950s. It is located in a large military base, in one of the southern districts of Rome - Cecchignola.
