Palazzo delle Esposizioni, or the Palace of Exhibitions is the largest center of culture and art in the center of Rome. The building houses a cinema room, an auditorium, a multimedia room, an elegant restaurant, a cafe, a bookstore and three independent exhibition spaces. Mainly contemporary art and photo exhibitions are presented here. The Palace also hosts shows, film reviews, theater performances and music concerts.
The Palazzo delle Esposizioni building was designed by Pio Piacentini and built in 1883. In terms of architecture, it is distinguished by the classicizing Italian "national style". The majestic building has an entrance in the shape of a triumphal arch, while the facade is topped with a series of sculptures depicting allegories of ancient arts and artists. To this day, the palace fulfills its original function - a modern exhibition space located in the very center of the city.
