Riomaggiore is one of the towns that are part of the famous Cinque Terre. It is situated on the rocks above a small beach. There are many walking paths in the area, including the world-famous Path of Love.

The town is surrounded by a small bay and divided into 3 parts connected by tunnels: the center, the train station and the fishing district. The houses seem to be stuck to the rocks, stacking one above the other. Between them, narrow streets barely leave room for one car to pass. All this makes it best to come to Riomaggiore by train or by boat and explore the narrow streets.

The higher you enter the buildings, the more beautiful the views of the coast. The best vantage point is the vicinity of the castle standing high on the rocks. This is where the most famous and spectacular photos of Riomaggiore come from. In addition to the castle, notable sights of the city are the churches of Santa Maria Assunta and St. John. The colorful, tall houses in the fishing district with a marina surrounded by rocks are very picturesque. There are colorful boats swaying on the water, which fishermen use to go fishing.

The Riomaggiore area is part of the Cinqueterre National Park. These are exceptionally picturesque areas with numerous hiking trails and paths. Many of them lead along the edge of cliffs that descend steeply towards the sea. One of the most famous and appreciated routes by tourists is the Path of Love with beautiful views of the coast, the sea and the Cinque Terre towns.
