Chapel of the Archbishop's Palace in Ravenna, built at the turn of the 4th and 5th centuries during the reign of King Theodoric. It is the only such facility in the world from the early Christian period and is included in the UNESCO list.
The chapel consists of a barrel-vaulted vestibule and an oratory. They are decorated with painted and mosaic decorations depicting a starry sky, figures of saints, the Holy Trinity, Christ in a warrior costume and many others. The chapel is the only Catholic building erected during the reign of Theodoric, when Arianism was the main religion of his kingdom.Less
