The Cathedral of Pisa is one of the masterpieces of the Romanesque style in Italy. Along with other buildings at the Cathedral Square, it was inscribed on the UNESCO list in 1987.
The temple was built at the turn of the 11th and 12th century. It is a three-nave basilica with a transept and a dome over the intersection of naves. The facade is decorated with colorful stone and majolica tiles, and the walls are decorated with rows of arcades. The interior covered with a coffered ceiling hides numerous Gothic sculptures, the tomb of Emperor Henry VII from the 14th century, 14th century mosaics, as well as Renaissance and Baroque wall paintings.Less
