Baptistery of St. John

Local name: Battistero di San Giovanni

The Baptistery enters the historic Piazza del Duomo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built in the 12th century on a circular plan with a diameter of 35 m. Its height is nearly 55 m, which makes it the largest baptistery in Italy. Inside you can see the baptismal font, pulpit and spiral staircase leading to the gallery.
