The villa was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries for the rich Florino family in the style characteristic for this period called "the Italian revival". He drew on the Romanesque, Renaissance and Neoclassical traditions as well as modern trends such as Art Nouveau. Currently, the building is occupied by the Department of Architecture, and the interior after the fire of the mid-twentieth century no longer has historic features.
