The museum is located in the former Eremitani monastery, divided into an archaeological section and an art section from 1300-1800. Its beginning was a collection given to the city by the merchant Nicolo Bottacina. You can see Roman reliefs and inscriptions, items from ancient cemeteries discovered in Padua, as well as huge collections of Italian painting and sculpture from the Middle Ages to the late Baroque.
