A small, late-Gothic chapel built in the early fourteenth century by Enrico Scrovegni as a propitiation for the sins of his father, Reginald, who was a loan shark. The interior is covered with frescoes by Giotto made in the years 1303-1306. These are the oldest works that he undisputedly created by him. They present the stories of Joachim and Anna as well as Mary and Jesus until the Resurrection. On the wall above the entrance there is a Last Judgment scene.
