Opened in 1807, the Civic Arena Arena has remained unchanged until today. It was designed in classicist style by Luigi Canonica. The amphitheater can accommodate about 30,000 people. There is a 400 meter treadmill, football field and rugby. Since 2033 the arena is named after the famous Italian sports journalist and writer Giovanni Luigi Brera.
Currently, athletics, concerts and other cultural events take place at the stadium. In the past there were many entertainment events such as reconstruction of sea battles, balloon flights, horse racing, chariot races. Many sports competitions and football matches were held in the arena, including Milan's first-team Milan and AC Milan.
