The Diocesan Museum of Milan was founded in 2001 on the initiative of the Archdiocese of Milan. The museum is located in the ancient monastery of Sant'Eustorgio. The building underwent reconstruction after destruction during World War II. The institution's mission is to store, protect, disseminate and display artistic diocesan treasures in a dynamic and pleasant exhibition space.
The collection contains over 700 exhibits from the 4th century to modern times. The museum has many years of collections of various cardinals of Milan, e.g. Monti, Riccardi or Visconti. The paintings, sculptures and liturgical furniture are noteworthy.
