The facility is famous for its impressive collection of paintings and murals by Fra Angelico (1387-1455), one of the most important painters of the Italian Renaissance. The museum is located in the former Dominican monastery, designed by Michelozzo himself, is now considered a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture.
