Florence Cathedral

The construction of the monumental cathedral (153 m long) began in 1296 by architect and sculptor Arnolf di Cambio. The temple was built around the church of Santa Reparata from the 4th century. The Gothic building was completed only in 1871, when 300 years after the facade of di Cambio was destroyed, a new design by Emilio de Fabris was approved.
