Church of San Francesco d’Assisi

The church is located in the historic center of the city. In the Roman period, the pagan temple of the goddess Minerva was located here, in 1329 Queen Eleonora commissioned the construction of the first monastery and church. The current appearance of the facility is the result of an earthquake reconstruction. The hallmarks of the temple are two identical bell towers crowned with a dome.
