The "Our Father" church in Jerusalem, also known as the Pater Noster Church, is a Roman Catholic Christian temple located on the southern slope of the Mount of Olives. It is a partially restored building that was erected on the ruins of a Byzantine church from the 4th century. The building remains part of the Carmelite convent. Today, the land on which it stands belongs to France.
Acts II mentions a cave on the slope of the Mount of Olives, where, according to the Bible, Jesus was to teach his disciples. According to tradition, Christ gave the content of the Lord's Prayer to his apostles. The contemporary Pater Noster church is built right next to the basilica of the 4th century, commissioned by Constantine I to celebrate the Ascension of Jesus Christ. The cloister of the Carmelite monastery adjoins the temple, where you can admire the tablets with the content of the prayer "Our Father" in about 130 languages.
The reconstruction of the church began in 1915, but was interrupted in 1927 due to lack of funds. The nineteenth-century monastery is modeled on Campo Santo in Pisa, Italy. Tourists can visit the objects of religious worship of the Roman Catholic religion and appreciate the effort put into partial reconstruction of buildings
