The mosque was built in 1611 on the site of the former church of Saint John. Around him were the buildings of the madrassa, mausoleum and residential buildings. Some of them have survived to this day. The original prayer room has survived in the mosque. Today, it presents Islamic art collections from the local Ethnographic Museum. In the remaining buildings, you can see a collection of items related to the Christian and Jewish heritage of Jeanne.
