Ioannina Castle

Byzantine fortress covering the entire Old Town. It is the oldest castle in Greece. Its origins date back to the sixth century. The fortress was successively expanded both during the Byzantine and Turkish rule. Within it, apart from the Old Town buildings, you can also see two citadels with huge walls.
