Perama Cave

The impressive cave is right on the lake shore. It stretches for 5 km, but has only been thoroughly explored for a distance of 1,100 m. This section is open to guided tours.

Sightseeing takes approx. 45 minutes. You can then see fancy rock formations and a characteristic arrangement of stalagmites and stalactites. Remember to wear warm clothes, because the temperature inside the cave is cool regardless of the season.

It is worth mentioning that the cave was not discovered until 1940. It was accidentally found by local residents fleeing the bombing.
