The church has existed since the Byzantine times, being the place of storage of the relics of Saint Titus, one of the patrons of Crete. The temple was rebuilt several times. From the original assumption, a three-nave block has been preserved, to which a dome was added during the Turkish rule. At that time, the church was used as a mosque. From the front there is a monumental Baroque facade with carved pilasters.
