Archaeological Museum of Heraklion

One of the most important archaeological museums in Europe and the second largest in Greece, after the National Museum of Athens. It collects monuments documenting over 5,000 years of human history in Crete. Valuable treasures of the Minosan culture, including sarcophagi, frescoes and ceramics, monuments from excavations in Knossos and works from the classical period were collected here.
