The building within the Acropolis is recognized as the pinnacle of Ionic architecture. It was built at the end of the 5th century BC. It was dedicated to Poseidon and Athena, and owed its name to the first ruler of Athens, Erechteus. The temple has four levels and consists of three connected blocks. Her best known segment is the caryatid cloister. The sculptures found here are copies. Due to their protection, the originals were transferred to the museum.
