Acropolis

One of the most important monuments in the world. On the hill, 157 m above sea level, there is a complex of temples from the 5th century BC. There is, among others, the Parthenon dedicated to the goddess Athena, to which sculptures were made by Fidias, Erechtejon built for Poseidon, the Nike temple and the Pinacotheque. A huge gate leads to the interior called Propylaea. A large part of the buildings visible today have been rebuilt, and the original architectural elements and sculptures went to the museum.
