Villa Stuck Museum

Local name: Museum Villa Stuck

The former neoclassical villa of Franz von Stuck in Munich houses a museum dedicated to this artist. You can see, among others, the historic studio and salon of the famous Munich artist. Additional space is available for special exhibitions. The building is decorated with sculptures of amazons by von Stuck.

The villa was built in the years 1897 - 98, it was the former seat of the "painter-prince". He himself designed the villa, and in the years 1914-15 a studio was added to the building. In 1928, just before his death, he received the honorary doctorate of the Munich University of Technology from the house design for achievements in planning and art.

In addition to the historic houses and studio rooms of Franz von Stuck, the museum also benefits from a collection of the artist's works, supplemented by objects from the field of applied art from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum also presents special exhibitions on historical and artistic topics. The Willa Stuck Museum was opened in 1992.
