The Museum of Culture and Art is housed in a neoclassical villa building from 1834. The lower floor presents the history of the house, and at the same time the life of a rich merchant class of that period. The rooms and their purpose have been preserved in the original style.
Visitors begin a walk around the villa from the White Room with a historic chandelier, which serves as a representative dining room.
The next room, now equipped with souvenirs from the owners of the building, originally served as a tea room or reading room.
Another room, connected to the terrace, is a kind of hall and was designed by eminent architects and interior designers from Paris.
On the ground floor there is also a music room with original equipment, including the Erard piano from 1838.
On the first floor there are private rooms, where, among others, a permanent exhibition devoted to the life and work of Caspar Voght and a collection of bourgeois painting in Germany are presented.
