Bad Wörishofen is a Bavarian health resort that has used the local thermal waters for over 150 years. There is a spa park and a lot of pretty spa buildings from the 19th century.
Although the village has existed since the 11th century, the golden period of its heyday did not begin until the second half of the 19th century, when the local thermal springs began to be used. The promoter and creator of the splendor of the local spa was Father Sebastian Kneipp. He developed guidelines for carrying out hydrotherapy treatments, which are still used in many spa houses in Bad Wörishofen today.
The central part of the old spa town of Bad Wörishofen is the picturesque Spa Park, with its fountains, flower beds and walking paths. There is a Spa House and a statue of Sebastian Kneipp here. There is also a Sebastian Kneipp museum dedicated to the history of the spa in the city.
The new Tem Wörishofen complex was built on the outskirts of the city. It is the biggest attraction of Bad Wörishofen, attracting not only patients but also tourists who want to have fun in the water park. North of the city is also the Allgäu Skyline Park.
