Tignes is a ski resort which, together with the neighboring Val d'Isere, forms one of the most important French ski regions, L'Espace Killy.
The town and the surrounding settlements were built in the mid-20th century. It is the heir to the village of Tignes, which was flooded by the waters of a dam lake. The new buildings were erected at an altitude of 2,100 m above sea level and quickly turned into one of the most famous ski resorts.
Ski resort - Tignes Le Lac together with Val d'Isere offers a total of approx. 300 km of ski slopes. Due to their location, most of them are open from October until May. The attraction of Tignes are the year-round glacier runs. There are also excellent conditions for freeriding in the region. There is also a snow park.
The apres-ski offer is very rich, including bars, discos and clubs, as well as sports facilities, saunas and wellness salons, swimming pools, fitness clubs, cinemas and much more.
