The Legion of Honor Museum is located near the Orsay Museum, in the VII District of Paris. His collection includes medals and decorations awarded throughout France's history, as well as orders from other countries. In the museum you can also see a collection of portraits of the legions of honor of the Legion of Honor.
The Legion of Honor is the highest French state decoration. It was established by Napoleon in 1802. It replaced earlier orders and decorations lifted during the French Revolution. Napoleon Bonaparte himself was the first bachelor of the order.
The exhibition shows the history of French state decorations, earlier orders, such as Saint Michael or the Holy Spirit, which the French Revolution abolished. There is also a section dedicated to the Legion of Honor itself. The order awarded to Napoleon is shown. The walls are decorated with over 300 portraits presenting the award-winning.
