The Museum of Decorative Arts is located in one of the Louvre wings. It is a collection of applied arts and handicrafts covering the times from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is divided chronologically and thematically. You can see furniture, clothes, graphics, jewelry, glass, ceramics and all other forms of art that are used in everyday life.
The museum was founded in 1905. At the beginning of the 21st century, it underwent a thorough renovation and change of exposure. It was again made available to visitors in 2006. In the galleries of the left wing of the Louvre Palace were placed objects that in the past and now served man in normal life.
You can see here the furniture of apartments from different periods, painting and sculpture treated in this case as interior decorations, design collections, utility textiles, including clothes from the Middle Ages to the present day. The local toy collection is large, as well as advertising collections, including those from several hundred years ago.
