The State Archives Museum is housed in the Soubise residence in the Marais district. It is an institution showing photos, letters, documents found in state collections. You can also visit the original 17th century palace interiors.
The museum presents selected exhibits from the State Archives. These are official documents, letters, diaries, photos, sketches and personal souvenirs, which were often given here by the inhabitants of France. One of the rooms is dedicated to French travelers and their expeditions. Collected here are photos from the expeditions, equipment, travel notes and diaries.
Thanks to the location of the museum, you can also see the original interior. There are furniture, knick knacks, paintings from the Baroque and early Classicism periods. The decor is complemented by paintings and wall textiles.
