The Grand Mosque of Paris is located in the Latin Quarter. It has been operating since 1926. It was built in the Neo-Moorish style. It is modeled on buildings from Morocco and Algeria and on the Alhambra. The silhouette of the mosque is dominated by a square minaret decorated with mosaics. There are trees on the rectangular patio, among which there are ponds.
It is currently the largest Muslim temple in France. The mosque consists of a prayer room, madrassa, library, conference room and minaret. The whole is maintained in the style of Moorish Gothic. The spacious patio is surrounded by arcaded arcades. The interior of the mosque and the minaret are covered with mosaics. These are primarily geometric patterns in shades of gray and blue.
