The Summer Palace of the Star in the Liboc district is a Renaissance villa, located in a nature reserve. The two-story summer house has rich stucco decorations inside. Currently, the building houses an exhibition open to visitors dedicated to the battle of Biała Góra, which took place near the palace.
The local nature reserve was created in 1530 thanks to King Ferdinand I, while 25 years later, his younger son, Archduke of Austria Ferdinand II, ordered the construction of a villa, which was completed three years later. The building was built on the plan of a six-pointed star and hence the villa and the reserve took their names.
The architects Avostalis Juan Maria del Pambio, Giovanni Lucchese, and later Hans from Tyrol and Bonifác Wolmut are responsible for the design and construction of the building. The summer palace was rebuilt in 1952, and in 1996 the building took over the museum and an exhibition about the battle for the White Mountain was organized here.
