The baroque monastery complex belonging to the Capuchin Friars Minor, was funded by the Czech baroness Katarzyna of Lobkovice. The Loreto chapel deserves special attention. Santa Casa, treasury with treasures of Loreta incl. the diamond monstrance of the Prague Sun from the end of the 17th century decorated with 6222 diamonds, the Church of the Nativity of the Lord and the tower with the original Baroque carillon from which the bugle call sounds every hour.
Legend has it that Santa Casa, or the House of Our Lady in Nazareth, was moved by a host of angels from the Holy Land to Dalmatia due to the invasion of Muslim troops and from there to the city of Loreto in northern Italy. Stories of a miracle spread, which caused that at the turn of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in many Catholic countries arose Loterian chapels.
The Loretto Carillon has 27 tower bells, on which the melody is played with the hearts of bells using a special keyboard.
