Orthodox Church of St Olga
Local name: Pravoslavný kostel svaté Olgy
The church of Saint Olga was built at the end of the 19th century for Russian patients visiting the Františkovy Lázně region. It is an eclectic building with a square nave covered with a dome and a polygonal tower above the entrance. Inside is a simple wooden iconostasis.
The church was designed by Gustav Wiedermann, who is also the author of several other buildings in Frantiskovy Lazne. It refers to typical churches built in this period in Russia. It consists of a square nave, a small presbytery and a tower attached to the facade. In its lower part there is an entrance surrounded by a decorated portal. The interior of the temple is covered with geometric polychrome. The nave is separated from the presbytery by a wooden, carved iconostasis. The side altars depict Christmas and Crucifixion scenes.
