Water reservoir tower
Local name: Vodárenská věž
The water tower is a technical monument. From the 18th century, it was used to supply water from the Vltava River on the Samson Fountain in Budejovice. Currently available to visitors. There is a modern exhibition devoted to old water supply systems.
The tower was built in 1724. Its current appearance is the result of the reconstruction of 1882. It has a height of 44.3 meters. It is a square-based structure with a half-timbered room and a hipped, chamfered roof. Inside, two films are presented about the use of water and its transfer. There are also elements of the old water supply devices. An educational path explaining issues related to the presence of water in the city was led next to the tower.
