Budvar Brewery is one of the best known Czech breweries. Beer produced in České Budějovice is also present on tables in many European countries, including Poland. In addition to regular production, the plant also offers the opportunity to visit the old part of the brewery. He also runs his own company brewery and restaurant.
The history of brewing in České Budějovice goes back to the beginnings of the city. The beer produced here since the 13th century went primarily to the surrounding cities and towns. Budvar brewery was officially founded in 1895 as a competition for the German brewery Budweiser. It has been a state company since 1945. At the beginning of the 21st century, Budvar opened a tourist route in the oldest part of the plant.
During the tour, tourists can learn the secrets of brewing beer, convince themselves of some of the ingredients it produces and learn more about its presence on global markets. The walk begins with a multimedia presentation. In the next parts, visitors pass through the former production halls with original vats and installations to finally watch a three-dimensional film about beer production. The brewery also has its traditional Czech beer house and the Mesne kramy restaurant.
