The Mushroom Museum (Muzej gljiva) in Zagreb is an extraordinary exhibition created by Professor Romano Bošac. There are more than 1000 mushrooms from around the world, they have been freeze-dried, thanks to which they retain their natural appearance - shape and color. You can see here, among others, the truffles found during the walk by the professor's dogs.
Mushrooms are stored in special conditions, the room maintains the right temperature and humidity. Mushrooms are initially frozen, and then using a device called freeze dryer water is drained from them, its content is reduced by about 5-6%.
The professor has been interested in mushrooms for 50 years, he came up with the idea of creating a museum dedicated to them in 1995, during which he collected the first mushrooms for his collection. The collection is constantly growing.
