The Mimara Museum (Muzej Mimara) in Zagreb presents a collection of art and archaeological objects collected by the well-known Croatian painter and collector - Ante Topić Mimara. Here you can admire the works of Flemish (e.g. Bosch, Rubens, Van Dyck), Dutch (e.g. Rembrandt van Rijn, Van Goyen) and German (e.g. Holbein and Leibel) masters, as well as exhibits from prehistoric times .
The archaeological collection consists of over 1,500 exhibits, they come from the areas of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Persia. The art collection is complemented by antique icons from Palestine and Russia, as well as a collection of original furniture from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.
The headquarters of the museum once served as a junior high school, was designed in the Renaissance style at the end of the 19th century by the architects Robert Ludwig and Alfred Hülßner. In the 1980s, the building was transformed into a museum according to the plans of architect Kuno Waidmann.
