The Croatian Museum of Naive Art (Hrvatski muzej naivne umjetnosti) in Zagreb gathered a very rich collection of paintings, sculptures and drawings, a total of about 1,900 works. Visitors can see a permanent exhibition with 80 of the most important works created, including by the precursor of Croatian naive art - Ivan Generalić.
The collection also includes works by Emerik Feješ, Dragan Gaži, Mijo Kovačić,
Slavko Stolnik and Draga Jurak. In addition to the work of Croatian creators, you can see the activities of artists from other parts of the world, including from Poland - Nikifor Krynicki.
The first museum presenting the achievements of Croatian primitivists was established in the early 1950s, it was the Gallery of Peasant Art (later the Gallery of Primitive Art). The Croatian Museum of Naive Art is the oldest institution of its kind in the world.
