The port of Korčula is located in the immediate vicinity of the medieval city, sometimes called "Little Dubrovnik". The port is a popular destination for sailing enthusiasts - lots of boats moor here, from motor boats to large yachts. Numerous cruise ships and ferries also run here - the port of Korčula is the center of tourism for the entire island.
Korčula port is a place valued by people focused on visiting the city's sights, but also lovers of local cuisine. Fresh fish and seafood are served in numerous cafes and bars - you can also go shopping at the daily market, stocked by local fishermen. There are numerous cinemas, galleries and museums in the old town of Korčula.
The city of Korčula has only about 3 thousand. permanent residents, but crowds of tourists visit them during the season. It is not as crowded here as in Dubrovnik or Split, but the city and port are the base for exploring the rest of the island, especially for tourists using public transport.
