The main city boulevard stretches for 2.7 km from the Saint Nedel Orthodox Church to the South Park. Along it there are numerous restaurants, cafes, shops and boutiques, including luxury brands such as Versace, D&G and Tommy Hilfiger. In 2007, according to a study by Cushman & Wakefield, it was the most expensive shopping street in the world.
Part of the boulevard is car-free. In 2013, it was rebuilt in a retro style reminiscent of the 1930s. At that time, new Art Nouveau benches, lanterns and kiosks were installed. There are more green areas and picturesque fountains.
Initially, it was a residential street, built up with small, one-story houses. Only in the interwar period, it was transformed into a shopping street. Large public utility buildings also appeared there.
