The Hundertwasserhaus is a colorful residential complex, designed by the controversial Austrian artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The facade is painted in bright colorful patches. In some places, it seems a bit jagged and reveals the original facade. The whole is decorated with ceramic pillars and a golden dome. The complex can only be viewed from the outside, as it is inhabited and used. There are 50 apartments, 4 restaurants and doctor's offices ..
The Hundertwasserhaus is one of the first buildings in Vienna built according to the design of Hundertwasser. It was created in the 1980s. The architect had the opinion of a rebel, and his works often aroused controversy. The basis of the Hundertwasserhaus project were wavy lines and putting the form in the foreground before the functionality of the building. In the original version, Hundertwasser even planned to create uneven floors, but for practical reasons this was not realized.
