Finkenberg is a small alpine town in the vicinity of the famous Zillertal ski region and the Hinterux Glacier, with Austria's only year-round ski runs.

The town has a typical alpine architecture and consists of several mountain settlements. Many guesthouses, resorts and hotels have been built around the old, traditional houses, and they are filled with skiers every year. An architectural highlight of the Finkenberg area is the Devil's Bridge over the Tux stream. It is a wooden, roofed structure supported by two stone pillars.

In winter, winter sports fans mainly come to Finkenberg. In the Zillertal ski area, over 200 km of perfectly groomed pistes of various levels of difficulty await them. There is a panoramic terrace at the top station of the resort, from which you can admire the entire area. The resort is served by several dozen cableways and lifts, including the Finkenberg Alm and Katzenmoos. The apres-ski offer is also very rich, including restaurants, bars, wellness centers, snowshoe tours and night clubs.

You can also go skiing in the summer in Finkenberg. The slopes of the Hinterux Glacier provide fun. The great attraction of the vicinity of Finkenberg is the Ice Palace, i.e. the grottoes under the glacier prepared for exploring. You can see illuminated sparkling crystals that cover the walls and a chapel carved in ice. Exploring the surroundings of Finkenberg provides wonderful views. Popular routes lead, among others to the Schlegeis Reservoir, to the Hochfeiler or Gefrore-Wand-Spitzen peaks and to the Zamsergrund gorge.
