Bad Hofgastein is an Austrian resort and ski resort at the foot of the Hohe Tauern. Surrounded by almost 2,500 meters above sea level, it is a great place to relax in both summer and winter.

The village lies in a vast Alpine valley, the bottom of which is covered with meadows, and the slopes of the mountains are covered with coniferous forests. Above are rocky peaks, which are often covered with snow even in summer. There are tens of kilometers of walking trails marked out around the town, and the town itself is full of mountain hikers in summer. The most popular routes lead to the Gamskarkogel and Schlossalm massifs. For people who do not like long approaches, and would like to admire the mountain views waiting cable cars, which can ride to the surrounding peaks.

The whole valley in which Bad Hofgastein is located turns into a ski center in winter. There are about 200 km of ski runs of varying difficulty, as well as snowboarding and freeride routes.

Bad Hoggastein itself is a picturesque mountain village in the center of which you can see typical Alpine buildings with colorful houses decorated with wooden balconies and flowers. Entertainment and tourist life revolves around the promenade on which mineral water fountains hit. There are also many restaurants and cafes.

Mineral waters are another attraction of Bad Hofstein. Hot springs are used in several spa centers and a water park. Both outdoor and year-round swimming pools in buildings operate, and in summer the grassy "beaches" above the pools are very popular.
