Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB
Suffolk Coast and Heaths covers an area of nearly 100 km of coastline in East Anglia. It surprises with the diversity of the landscape - there are both forests, heaths, estuaries, rocky beaches and salt marshes, as well as villages and small towns. This region has been included in the protected "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). You can ride a bike and hike here, there are three long-distance routes and several shorter ones.
In the area of Suffolk Coast and Heaths, three national nature reserves and several dozen "Areas of special importance for science" have been designated. Many bird species live here, including the predatory marsh harriers which are under strict protection. You can also find common sabers, common bitterns, lilies and whiskers.
