Colchester Zoo
There are more than 260 animal species in the Colchester zoo. The catwalks are divided into over 20 sections. You can meet animals from almost all continents, including leopards, giraffes, cheetahs and elephants. There are plenty of kangaroos, tigers and bears. There are also smaller inhabitants, such as meerkats, otters and colorful birds. The zoo's offer includes a round trip with a special train with wagons.
The Colchester Zoo is family friendly with young children. It has several family rooms, mini-car parks for wheelchairs have been made available in front of the pavilions, and an easier and shorter route has been developed. For slightly older children there are also attractions in the form of a ball pool and slides.
The zoo was opened in 1963. After the crisis in the seventies and eighties, during which there were voices about the closure of the facility, it returned to glory and has been constantly developing since the nineties.
